Why Replace your Entry Door Glass?

  • Looking for a facelift but don't want to replace full door.

  • Your existing door does not have glass

  • Looking for either more light or more privacy

  1. Width and height of actual glass size: This measurement will be about 1 3/4”
      less than the tip-to-tip measurement of the plastic frame that surrounds the glass.
   -Glass thickness measurement is only needed if using existing glass frame. Replacement
      glass includes a fame specified for 1 3/4” thick doors,(standard door thickness).
  - Your current glass size may be 3/4”,1/2”,or 1”.thick. Grand View’s 1“ glass can replace
      these thicknesses as long as the door is 1 3/4” thick.

 

  2. Tip-to-Tip is the overall width and height of the plastic frame: This is not the
      same size as the glass size.
    -Frames are larger by around 1 1/2“ to 2” larger in Height and Width than actual glass.

 

  3. Cut-out Opening for door glass: The opening size is needed for replacing glass or
      adding glass to a door that has no glass
   -Cut-Out is typically around 1" to 1 1/4” larger than than actual glass height and width

How to choose the correct size for entry door repalcement glass

Anchor 1

  1. Width and height of actual glass size: This measurement will be about 1 3/4”
      less than the tip-to-tip measurement of the plastic frame that surrounds the glass.
   -Glass thickness measurement is only needed if using existing glass frame. Replacement
      glass includes a fame specified for 1 3/4” thick doors,(standard door thickness).
  - Your current glass size may be 3/4”,1/2”,or 1”.thick. Grand View’s 1“ glass can replace
      these thicknesses as long as the door is 1 3/4” thick.

 

  2. Tip-to-Tip is the overall width and height of the plastic frame:

       -Frames are larger by around 1 1/2“ to 2” larger in Height

        and Width than actual glass.
